Privacy Policy

To us, privacy is important — which is why we respect and take yours seriously. Our goal is to do more than what the law requires us to, as we aim to earn your trust and confidence in the fact that we are careful with your data.

General Information

This policy sets out our privacy practices for your reference, and explains how we handle the information we collect from you when you visit and use our sites, services, mobile applications, products, and content (“Services”).

What We May Collect

We collect information about which Starlight Gateway pages you access, information about your mobile devices (such as device or browser types), information you send us (such as the email address that is used to register or communicate with us), and referral information.

When you use Starlight Gateway’s Services, we may collect and store your Internet Protocol address. We may then use this information to fight spam and other forms of abuse, to personalize Starlight Gateway’s Services to better suit your needs, or to generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use Starlight Gateway’s Services.

Additionally, because you are required to create your Starlight Gateway account and authenticate it via your account on the third-party service that is Facebook, we may collect, store, and periodically update the contact lists that are associated with that third-party account, so that you may connect with existing contacts from that service who are also on Starlight Gateway.

Emails From Starlight Gateway

On certain occasions, we will send you administrative emails about changes in your account, changes in our services, or the introduction of new policies. You cannot opt out of the mailing list for these emails, as we consider them to be compulsory notifications. You can, however, always opt out of non-administrative emails, such as daily digests.

We will not email you to ask for your password or other account information. If you receive emails requesting these details, please send them to us so we can investigate.

Disclosure Of Your Information
As a key rule, we do not share your personal information outside the company.

We will not sell your personal information either.

We may, however, share your personal information with third parties in limited but strict circumstances, including: (1) with your consent; (2) to a vendor or partner who meets our data protection standards; or (3) when we have a good faith and belief that it is required by law, such as pursuant to a subpoena or other legal processes.

If we are going to share your information in response to legal processes, we will be sure to give you advance notice so that you may challenge it (for example, by seeking court intervention), unless we are prohibited from doing so by law or court order. We will object to requests for information about users of our site and Services that we believe to be improper.

In the event that we merge with another company in future, such that your information will become subject to a different privacy policy, we will notify you before the transfer takes place. You can then opt out of the new policy by deleting your account during the stipulated notice period.

We use cookies and similar technologies such as pixels and local storage to recognize you when you return to our Services. We use them in various ways, for example to log you in, to remember your preferences (such as default language choices), to evaluate email effectiveness, to show ads that are relevant to your account and preferences, and to personalize information.

We respect Do Not Track (“DNT”) settings in browsers. If you are logged out of our Services and have DNT enabled, we will not set our cookies to work. You cannot, however, log into Starlight Gateway while DNT is enabled.

Some third-party services that we use, such as embedly or Google Analytics, may place their own cookies in your browser. This Privacy Policy covers use of cookies by Starlight Gateway only and not the use of cookies by third parties.

Data Storage

Starlight Gateway uses third-party vendors and works closely with hosting partners, such as Amazon, for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technologies that are needed to run Starlight Gateway. We continuously maintain two types of logs: server logs and event logs.

Modifying Your Personal Information Or Deleting Your Account

To protect all information from accidental or malicious destruction, we may not immediately delete residual copies of information from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems.

Data Security

We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data that is transmitted to and from our site. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee complete security. Please be advised as such that you are using the Services at your own risk, and that you are responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your own account (like using a strong password). We will nonetheless make it a priority to work together with you in enhancing the safety of all data and information that you entrust Starlight Gateway with.

Changes To This Policy

Starlight Gateway may periodically update this Policy. We will notify you about any and all significant changes to this Policy. The most current version of this policy will always be here for your reference and review.
