Adapted from 1983 Taiwanese motion picture “Papa Can You Hear Me Sing? (搭错车)”, a musical play titled “An Accident of Love” which combines songs, dance and spoken dialogue, will be staged for the very first time in Malaysia on 23 November 2019 at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting at 8:30pm.

A real tear-jerker starring Chinese pop music diva Della Ding (丁当), Berson Wang (王柏森), Nylon Chen (陈乃荣), Yeh Wen-Hao (叶文豪) and 13 other talented theater artistes will promise to take audience on a 150-minute emotional roller coaster journey of love, family and friendship.

Produced by B’IN Music, the adaptation came into fruition after two years of preparation with spending over millions in TWD. Directed by Chris Tseng, with Andrew Chu as music director and Chen Le-Rong as screenwriter, the stage is designed with four thematic scenes with dazzling backdrops, complemented with state-of-the-art lighting and visual effects and has thus far praised by many as a truly world-class performance!

“An Accident of Love” Musical officially kicked off in July last year at the Taichung Theater, and has garnered overwhelming response and rave reviews from public and celebrities. It has since toured major cities including Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Toronto, Vancouver, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan and Beijing to date.

“An Accident of Love” tells the heart-wrenching story of a speech-impaired veteran soldier who struggles against poverty as a scrap collector, and his adopted daughter A-Mei, who later shuns his father and friends after hitting her stardom in the show business.

The musical includes not only the classic hit songs from the film such as “Any Empty Wine Bottles for Sale,” “The Same Moonlight,” “Come with Me, Please,” “Whether or Not,” and etc., but also adapted Della Ding’s popular songs “I Love Him,” “Run Away from Home,” “Qin Ren” as well as original compositions “Fight” and “Diva and Doll” written by Andrew Chu.
