ALICE IN THE ANTIPATHIES

Asha a second generation Indian diaspora born in Malaysia finds herself unable to conform to her cultural setting to be the dutiful daughter. Upon realising the lack of access to the kind of education she prefers, Asha persuades her parents to send her to study in Australia in the 1970s.

Her introduction to her new found freedom meant reconciling her cultural values but she falls futher into the rabbit hole seeking a life with a foreign man.
This uncomfortable choice to settle in Australia, choosing art as her career and forming an uncanny liason with Alice in Wonderland is unfolded as a contemporary performance piece base on the Kawaad device for storytelling.

Is Asha able to reconcile her loss of family and culture to fulfill her pursuit?
